Looking Back, Looking ahead
Looking at the rearview mirror and, simultaneously, the road ahead
In the space beyond the moment-to-moment sense-making and long-term projections, there is a blindspot to look ahead in the shorter term, between adaptability and seeing things through.
I organically found myself doing this twice a year, around the beginning of the summer and the end of the year. Reflecting and taking stock of moment of meaning, what needs to be carried ahead in new ways can be left behind.
This week's practice is to consider how many times a year you want to look at the rearview mirror and, simultaneously, the road ahead. Jot these notes in the form and place of your choosing.
Reminder: we will be meeting to discuss prompts, briefs, and practices on 7.1 at noon ET, for 60 minutes.
